‘Funk Rock Island Soul’ best describes this guitarist, singer & songwriter. Danyel has a musical style that reflects her roots of growing up on the beaches of LA & the Hawaiian Islands. Weaving conscious lyric with soulful vocals while blending elements of Funk, Rock, Blues, Reggae, Hip Hop, R & B, Soul, Jazz, Hawaiian, Pop & Country. Whether solo on acoustic or electric with a band, her unbridled guitar style & powerful vocals fuel the passion in her versatile, dynamic & high energy performances! Raised in a family of artists & musicians, Danyel Alana followed the family footsteps.  She began playing guitar & singing at age 4, studied classical flute from 9-19 years old, & also formed a passion for percussion & drums. Leading her first garage band in high school and performing small coffee house and bar gigs in her late teens before she began playing for other bands as a guitarist. Danyel Alana has now been performing & touring off and on over 25 years, Solo, duos, with her previous project “Unshakable Race” with former husband where they toured the western united states and released 3 CD’s (Right On!, Serial Survivors & Stop, Look & Listen) gaining a strong regional following in the pacific northwest. She has toured & performed with top local acts in Hawaii as well including Ekolu, Marty Dread, Humble Soul, Fiji just to name a few. Danyel continues to perform 6 or more shows a week from acoustic Hawaiian to electric Rock, in restaurants, hotels, clubs and larger concert venues across Maui. She’s opened for, recorded or performed with, many artists’ across Hawaii, mainland US, Canada, & Japan over the years. Notable artists include Buddy Miles, The Wailers, Willy Nelson, Lucas Nelson, RIchie Havens, Cecilio & Kapono, The Kryptones, Barry Flanagan (Hapa), Vince Esquire Band, Kanekoa, Majek Fashek, Cherry Poppin’ Daddy’s, Debbie Davies, Mighty Diamonds, Renegade Saints, Maunaloa, Willy K, Collective Soul, Natural Vibes, Nuff Sed, Third World, George Kahumoku Jr., John Cruz, The Itals, Ziggy Marley, Rocky Horror Show w/Eric Gilliom & Amy Hanaiali’I, 2011/2018/2019 ZepMaui Tribute Concerts, Butch Helemano, Sly Dog, Common Sense, Humble Soul, Anuhea, Jimmy Hendrix BirthdayTribute/Electric Church Maui, Curtis Salgado, Maunaloa, Human Rights Jumbalassy,  Katchafire, Brother Noland, Camille Volasco, …just to name a few. Her first solo effort is in the works with a Digital 45 soon to be released along with the relaunch of her band Danyel Alana Trio.
