Storyland Jazz Band

Jazz Maui presents The Storyland Jazz Band, playing 1920s – 1940s Swing and Jazz.  Two shows (tickets in advance highly recommended–these shows often sell out).  There are two shows starting at 5pm & 7:30pm.
Sunset Jazz spotlights an all-star line-up of local and visiting professional jazz musicians in the upstairs open air pavilion at Ku’ia Chocolate in Lahaina.  
Vocalist and bandleader Loren Story brings a modern approach to classic songs while honoring their original mood and style. She spent her childhood and early adult life immersed in show tunes and the Hollywood glamour of the 1930s and 40s. After five years performing with a swing dance “little big band” in the Midwest, Loren applied her classical vocal training and stage experience to found Satin Ragdoll & The Misfit Toys based in Los Angeles.  Her key influences include Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Doris Day, and Ella Fitzgerald. This new project marks her debut in the Maui music scene, where she’s recently made her home.
The band joining her will include Loren Tilley – Guitar; Mike Guzalak, clarinet & sax; Jeff Hellmer, Keys; Dave Graber, Bass; and Nolan Wren on drums.
