Show Description

Eric Gilliom’s “White Hawaiian” twice monthly in October! For full listing, click Book Tickets! Back by popular demand! After so many sold-out shows, we had to bring it back on a weekly basis! Find out why everyone is laughing! Join us for a unique but personal comedic journey of one member of a well known and loved Native Hawaiian family whose generational roots are grounded in entertainment. Eric Gilliom takes us through the challenges of growing up biracial, the love of family, and navigating success in the entertainment industry. Be ready to scratch your head, laugh till you cry, and take home the complexities of life Eric Gilliom gives you to unpack later. Furiously donning outlandish wigs with gaudy costumes, Eric shares his family history from his great grandparents all the way down to what it was like growing up with his six-time Grammy nominated sister Amy Hānaialiʻi Gilliom, while hilariously reliving his career highlights and follies in TV, film, and Broadway. *The biographically based show does touch on old, cultural stereotypes that are both thought provoking and painful. Some content or language may not be ideal for young children and therefore the show is rated 15+. “Coconuts don’t fall far from the tree!” “Back to Back to Back to Back Sellout runs!” “Based on the foundation of a multigenerational family tribute, White Hawaiian embraces a dizzying array of comedic caricatures, Chaplinesque slapstick, moving drama, multiple hit musical highlights and non-stop laugh-out-loud moments, along with some Hawaiian cultural history. All wrapped up with a knockout performance by its star.” —Maui News Tickets Premium Seating: $50 Extra large and comfy front row seats from A1 to A6 with side tables Preferred Seating: $45 Best-view seating in either the Front row (seats A7 to A15) OR the front row of any elevated section Regular Seating: $35 Run time:  75 minutes – no intermission Written by Brian Kohne + Eric Gilliom Produced by ProArts Playhouse + Eric GilliomPhoto by Tony Novak-Clifford WARNING: Show contains flashing light effects For information on our Access for All initiative, please go to ProArtsMaui.com/Access-for-All/
